Greetings to all,
I hope this message finds you well. We wanted to take some time to reflect on our recent journey to Kasane, Botswana, and the Chobe River. The experience was truly remarkable, and we would like to share some of our thoughts and observations
Our day began early as we left our hotel near Dukwi, eager to start the long drive towards Kasane. It was a beautiful morning with clear blue skies, and we were excited about the adventure ahead. On our way, we went through bird sanctuary near Nata and saw some beautiful wildlife and vegetation.
We stopped for lunch at a lovely restaurant called "Hungry Lion" in Nata, where we were served delicious fried chicken and crispy french fries.
After lunch, we continued our journey towards Kasane, eagerly anticipating our river cruise. Finally, we arrived at the Chobe River, located near Kasane, which forms the border between Namibia and Botswana. We learned that if we had continued for another 10 kilometers, we would have seen the point where Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, and Namibia converge.
The Chobe National Park is a wildlife lover's paradise, with the highest concentration of elephants per square kilometer in the world. It was truly a breathtaking sight to see herds of these gentle giants up close, foraging and bathing in the waters of the Chobe River. The river is not only famous for its herds of elephants but also for buffalos and predators such as large prides of lions that have learned to hunt them. We saw numerous antelopes, plain game, and herds of hippos wallowing in the shallow waters of the river. It was a magical experience to witness these animals in their natural habitat.
As we embarked on our river cruise, we were amazed by the stunning scenery, with lush vegetation and crystal-clear water. We saw several hippos, elephants, and other animals, each of them equally captivating. But the highlight of our cruise was when we unexpectedly saw a lion on our way back. It was an exhilarating moment that we will cherish forever.
As the sun began to set, we headed back to our hotel, feeling grateful for the amazing day we had. The plan for tomorrow was to visit Zimbabwe and see the famous Victoria Falls, a natural wonder that we were eagerly looking forward to.
In conclusion, our experience in Kasane, Botswana, and the Chobe River was a true delight. It was a unique opportunity to witness nature's beauty and majesty up close, and we feel privileged to have been a part of it. We highly recommend this trip to anyone who loves wildlife and nature, and we hope that you too will have a chance to experience it someday.
Best regards
